PROJECTS - MICHAEL REEDER EXPERIENCE

As he prepared for his largest solo show to date, visual artist Michael Reeder (reederone) set out to create an experience that would stay with his audience. His idea began with the floor—treating it as a canvas and contrasting the hardness of wood and concrete with the otherworldly softness of heavyweight Milliken carpet tile. The concept soon expanded to the walls, transforming the gallery at Thinkspace Projects into more than just a striking visual statement. The space itself shifted: echoes softened, the atmosphere thickened, and the gallery became a cocoon where viewers could engage with his work on a more intimate level.

Ultimately, the work was so convincing that HYPEBEAST reported it as entirely painted. Excerpt Below:

"The centerpiece of the exhibition is an immersive room entirely painted with gnarled triangles that create a rough yet vivid composition. Displayed inside the room are varying sized portraiture depicting realist subjects with flat patterning for a striking contrast. Altogether, the showcase is perhaps one of the artist’s largest to date."
